Doctor blades

Polished and sometimes hardened steel strips are used. The doctor blades are usually from 0.2mm (for photopolymer) to 1.0mm thick. The doctor blades can be machined at different angles: sharp, beveled on one side, on two sides or with a blade. Very good results are obtained with knives sharpened on one side at an angle of approx. 18ogr. The doctor blades should be used at an angle opposite to the direction of movement. The angle also depends on the angle of the support and therefore on the type of machine. The most commonly used are those beveled on one side, of the following dimensions :

- thickness 0.2mm and width 20mm

- thickness 0.25mm and width 20mm

- thickness 0.25mm and width 30mm
