TP 253 pad printing inks are suitable for printing on natural fibre textiles, especially cotton, but also on synthetic fibres (polyamide, polyester) and for printing on polyurethane, natural and synthetic leather, thermoplastic elastomers (TPE, TPU, velvety surfaces) and rubber. TP 253 inks are solvent-based pad printing inks. They can be used in one component and (alternatively) in 2 components with catalyst. When used in a single component, TP 253 inks dry physically by evaporation of the solvents; when used in 2 components, they dry through a physico-chemical reaction, resulting in a glossy ink film. If the ink is used in two components, the adhesion on substrates that are difficult to print on will improve, for example on synthetic textiles. Prints made with TP 253 show good resistance to laundry detergents (washable at temperatures up to 60°C) and chemical cleaning agents. The prints are flexible and elastic. TP 253 inks are also suitable for long-term outdoor applications.
